As we head into the Thanksgiving weekend, we wanted to express how thankful we are. Thankful for the opportunity to work alongside so many beautiful, inspiring people. Thankful for the wonderful energy and resilience this community has to offer. And, thankful for the place Greater Falls Connections calls home: Parks Place. Great American Smokeout & Turkey Raffle
Thursday, November 21. All day.
Today is your day to be a quitter. Each year, the American Cancer Society encourages smokers to use the third Thursday of November as the day to make a plan to quit. Community groups, leaders and schools are joining together to promote the Great American Smokeout. We are also using the day to support the activities of our local Vermont Quit Partners.
As a special promotion of this year’s Great American Smokeout, Greater Falls Connections is sponsoring a free turkey raffle. The winner will receive a 16-18 pound, free-range turkey provided by Harlow’s Organics. Harlow’s is an organic family farm in Westminster. To enter, contact Laura Schairbaum at 802.463.9927 ext 213. You can also stop by the Great Falls Regional Chamber of Commerce to enter the raffle and see our window display.
Bullying: A Community Discussion
Thursday, November 21. 6:00pm
A follow-up discussion to the film screening of “Bully.” Youth, parents, community leaders and those concerned with the profound impact of bullying and intimidation are invited to participate in a constructive and informative discussion. A panel of speakers will provide information and context for the discussion.
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided.

November Coalition Gathering: Part 2 of Mental Health & Substance Prevention

Join Greater Falls Connections as we continue our discussion about the connections between mental health and substance abuse. Special guest speaker Robert Stack, (LADAC, LMHC) and host of Brattleboro Community Television (BCTV)’s “Lets Talk About Mental Health and Addictions” will be on hand to lead the discussion.
Also, November 21st is National Greater American Smokeout, a day to make a plan to quit smoking. We’ll have a conversation about local events and efforts to help people quit and stay quit!
